RESPONSIBLE ORGANIC WASTE MANAGEMENT
Waste management is the process of treating solid wastes and offers variety of solutions for recycling items that don’t belong to trash. It is about how garbage can be used as a valuable resource. Waste management disposes of the products and substances that you have use in a safe and efficient manner.
Wastes management involves the following steps:
1. Education in the correct separation of the organic portion.
2. Collection of organic in suitable containers.
3. Removal of organic and transfer to soil.
4. Placing of organic composts / fertilizers.
5. Maintenance and composting*.
6. Harvesting of fertile land.
7. Construction of organic gardens / organic farming.
8. Food sovereignty and self-production of food.
9. Plantation of native plants / trees, aromatic and edible plants.
*Composting is nature’s way of recycling. Composting biodegrades organic waste: raw fruits and vegetables, eggshells, dried leaves, pruning remains, coffee, tea, yerba, sawdust and turns it into a valuable organic fertilizer.
This activity can take place in public and private schools, corporate buildings, in government agencies and in rural areas.
